Our 4th- and 5th grade members of the Young Ladies Organization enjoyed a special luncheon at J. Alexander’s this past Thursday — the perfect opportunity to put into practice the dinner etiquette skills they learned earlier in the week. From ordering confidently to using their cutlery correctly, our young ladies shined.
They selected from a variety of salads and soups, along with five entrée options… though it surprised absolutely no one that every single one chose steak. Dessert was a crowd favorite: chocolate cake and ice cream.
As part of our tradition, first year YLO members received engraved bracelets reading, “Be the change you hope to see in the world.” Our second year YLO officers were presented with sterling silver necklaces engraved with their names on the front and “YLO Officer ’26” on the back.
We received many compliments from J. Alexander’s staff and fellow diners about how well mannered and poised the girls were.

- “The wait staff don’t use a tray — they hold the drinks by the bottom of the cup!”
This luncheon is one of our favorite Driven by Grace events. We are grateful for the chance to provide meaningful experiences that shape the future leaders of our city, state, and country.
