We served 79 unhoused individuals in the windy cold this past Saturday. As volunteers, we kept commenting on how bitter the weather felt, even while wearing multiple layers of clothing. Seeing people without proper footwear in those conditions was especially heartbreaking.
Along with our care bags and bus passes, we distributed 5 pairs of new shoes and 10 new blankets. One gentleman, who often helps us collect trash, smiled after receiving a blanket and said he was “going to sleep well that night”.
We’re grateful to everyone who helps make this work possible. The need remains great, and every act of support makes a real difference.
