This past Saturday, we had the privilege of serving 91 members of the Market Square community. We shared prayer, song, the Word, food, clothing, hygiene supplies, and transportation assistance.
As I try to learn their stories and memorize as many names as I can, I hear stories of gratitude, and also of hardship, addiction, anger, and despair. I want so much more for those who are struggling. But I have to remind myself how patient Jesus has been with me. I can’t save anyone; only Jesus can, for “salvation is found in no one else” (Acts 4:12). As a friend said, “we are tilling hard soil.” But I know the seed we are planting is good. He is the One who makes it grow (1 Corinthians 3:6).
We’re grateful for every volunteer, partner, and supporter who makes these Saturdays possible. Some of you give your time, some your financial gifts, and some simply follow along. Whatever your part, please keep those we serve in your prayers.
