This past Saturday, we distributed 93 care bags to the unhoused and low-income families. We had a smaller turnout than in previous months- but that was likely due to the cold weather. Since the weather was getting colder, we started passing out blankets and jackets.
We also gave away VIA bus tickets for the first time. We are grateful VIA allows us to purchase discounted bus tickets for underserved communities. Our goal for 2025 is to give away a combination of 300 bus tickets and all-day passes.
Lastly, we gave away 22 Christmas gifts to the children- and the parents and grandparents we see at CBU.
